On the 10 April 1912 the R.M.S. Titanic sailed into history. While on its maiden voyage with 2,228 passengers and crew on board it sank to the bottom of the ocean, taking with it around 1,523 men, women and children. Only around 700 passengers survived! Like so many others I have had a strange curiosity about this disastrous event, but until recently I did not know why. After watching James Cameron's version of events it suddenly struck me! What happened next?
Over the last few years I have been doing some extensive research into the 700+ whose lives were saved. Where did they go, how did they cope, and did life really go on?
A few never fully recovered, some survived to a ripe old age and some were cut off in the prime of their lives, for others their experience shaped their future and many just wanted to forget the whole experience. But in the end nobody cheats death, some just manage to postpone it for a while. But for many life did go on and their descendants are alive today.
What follows is a family-tree of the 700 + Titanic survivors.
I apologise in advance for any mistakes on this site, but anyone who has ever attempted to trace their own family-tree you would know how difficult it can be.
FINALLY: If you have any information (i.e. Dates for Births, deaths, marriages, place of burial etc.) regarding the survivors of the Titanic, or their descendants I would be grateful if you would let me know.
