  Titanic (Life went on)

In response to receiving many emails regarding Jack and Rose.

I have decided to dedicate this page to all those who have watched the James Cameron movie version of Titanic and are interested why Jack Dawson and Rose Dewitt Bukater are not listed on this and many other websites.

The answer is simple and I apologise if this is upsetting, but Jack Dawson wasn't real, he was an invention of James Cameron to make a more dramatic plot (as if it need it).

Sadly neither was Rose, her mother or Cal.

The people who were real that appeared in the movie included Bruce Ismay, Thomas Andrews, Captain Smith, all the officers, Fred Fleet, Molly Brown, Col. Gracie, many of whom survived and can be found on this site.

James Cameron made a love story about two people called Jack and Rose, a modern day 'Romeo and Juliet', 'West Side story', 'Gone with the wind' A couple who struggled against all the adversity of the social classes to be together.

He simply used the Titanic as a backstory. In fact he could have put them on any old passenger ship and sank it, (including the 'Love boat') but he chose the Titanic, as it was already famous for sinking.

Many may also feel that Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio were the stars of the movie.

For others it was the ship.

For me it was the 1,495 men, women and children who died on board the Titanic and in the icy cold waters of the Atlantic, along with the 712 survivors who had to live with the nightmare of the early hours of the morning of April 15 1912 for the rest of their lives.
